Day 7: The Resurrection
We begin the next day of our pilgrimage by celebrating Mass in the Church of All Nations in the Garden of Gethsamane.
Then we visit the Garden Tomb, which was unearthed in 1867. Some believe that this is the actual place where Jesus was buried. Many tour groups overlook this beautiful garden, because the Church of the Holy Sepulchre has been considered the true burial location for two millennia, but even if this garden did not host the true tomb of Jesus, it shows us what his burial place might have looked like.
At the place where Jesus was crucified, there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb, in which no one had ever been laid. Because it was the Jewish day of Preparation and since the tomb was nearby, they laid Jesus there. (John 19:41-42)
